A new global web-based resource is available to assist the members in locating
the information needed to make well informed business decisions, provide high
quality work, and keep pace with the changing marketplace in which you operate.
This new resource, IFACnet – A KnowledgeNet for Accountants in Business,
provides one-stop access to leading edge articles, good practice guidance, and
management tools for accountants employed in commerce, industry, the public
sector, education, and the not-for-profit sector. By going directly to
www.ifacnet.com or accessing the KnowledgeNet through the IFAC website, users
can locate thousands of high-quality and relevant materials targeted
specifically for professional accountants in business (PAIBs) and developed by
IFAC and more than a dozen member bodies.
IFACnet.com has been developed by the International Federation of Accountants
(IFAC), under the leadership of the IFAC Professional Accountants in Business
Committee and with the support of IFAC member bodies, to facilitate the sharing
of resources among IFAC member organizations and to better support professional
accountants worldwide. Through its easy to use interface, developed by a
leading-edge technology company, IFACnet.com provides access to information on
a wide range of financial and management accounting topics, including strategy,
management, budgeting and planning, corporate governance, and risk management.
Accountants in the public sector can also benefit from searching for
information and guidance on such topics as costing, performance management and
reporting in the public sector.
IFACnet, has expanded its resources to address the needs of small and medium
accounting practices (SMPs), in addition to professional accountants in
business. IFACnet enables SMPs to easily locate information on a wide range of
technical, marketing, human resource and other matters, including such topics
as succession planning, managing a small firm, staff recruitment and retention,
and promoting firm services.
IFACnet has also added three new features to help accountants worldwide stay
current on technical, professional and marketplace issues and to make the
search engine more user friendly. These include a "Latest News" page with links
to a variety of business, management and accounting media and other websites; a
search box that enables users to search IFACnet directly from their Internet
browser; and a "What's News" section to inform visitors of new IFACnet features
and content. There will be no charge for using IFACnet.com, although certain
search results may identify documents and publications available for purchase.
IFACnet.com can be accessed through its home page at
