Mr. Komal Bahadur Chitracar has been elected President of South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) for the year 2010 at the Assembly meeting of SAFA held on 23 January 2010 at Kathmandu, Nepal. Prior to this election, Mr. Chitracar was the Vice President of SAFA for 2009.
Mr. Komal Bahadur Chitracar is also the founding president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN). He was actively associated with development and institutionalization of accounting profession in Nepal. He served in the first council of ICAN (1998-2001) and as its first president (1997-1999). He has been continuously engaged in the various committees of ICAN. Mr.Chitracar has been associated with SAFA since its inception. He represented Nepal in SAFA on behalf of the Association of Chartered Accountants of Nepal, the predecessor organization of ICAN. Mr. Chitracar is the fellow member of both ICAN and ICAI. He has been in public practice since 1970. He is the senior partner of KB Chitracar & Co., Chartered Accountants which is one of the oldest and prestigious chartered accountancy firms in Nepal.
Beside professional engagements, Mr. Chitracar is a dedicated social worker and is active in several social organizations. He served as the President of the Rotary Club of Kathmandu Mid-Town in 2005-2006. He is the founding Secretary General of Transparency International Nepal.

Mr. A.N. Raman has been elected Vice-President of South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) for the year 2010 at the Assembly meeting of SAFA held on 23 January 2010 at Kathmandu, Nepal.
Mr. Raman has worked extensively in the field of management accounting--writing and speaking avidly on topics relating to management accounting, enterprise governance, and cost management. He currently works as a consultant on management accounting topics with a focus on activity-based costing and target costing in India. He is a founding member of the Total Cost Management (TCM) Division of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Furthermore, Mr. Raman is the current Chair of the Professional Accountants in Business Committee at the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA), where he plays a pivotal role in promoting the work of the IFAC PAIB Committee in the Asian region. In addition, he is also a member of PAIB Committee of IFAC.
Mr. Raman is a member of the ICWAI, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka.

Mr. Hafiz is a Senior Partner of Rahman Rahman Huq (RRH), a leading firm of Chartered Accountants in Bangladesh. RRH is a Member Firm of KPMG International , one of the "Big 4" Accounting Firms in the World.
Mr. Hafiz is a senior member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh(ICAB). He is also a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW). Mr. Hafiz is a Council Member and a Past President of ICAB.
Mr. Hafiz was a member of the National Gas Utilization Committee. He was a Director of Sonali Bank Limited for over six years and currently a Director of Agrani Bank Limited.

A post graduate in Economics having more than thirty years of experience with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He served the Institute in diverse capacities in Technical Directorate, Examination, Board of Studies, Council Affairs, Disciplinary and HRD, besides handling other assignments specifically assigned to him from time to time. The only strength to his credit is exposure to critical areas of the ICAI, experience gained therefrom and the expertise thus possessed.
He pioneered in rendering assistance to Accounting Standards Board, Auditing Practices Committee and Centralized evaluation system of answer papers during their formative stages. He is the first Appellate Authority and also the first Director (Discipline), designated by the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Besides, he served as Officer-in-Charge for five consecutive Elections to the Council and the Regional Councils including conduct and completion of election under the Election Rules as framed by the Central Government. In addition, he rendered various remarkable services /handled assignments including acting as the Secretary to the Study Team on Issues Relating to Foreign Bodies/Firms which was, inter alia, entrusted with the task of providing inputs, on behalf of the ICAI, to the Government on WTO related matters.
Currently he is also the Secretary to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Mr. Paramanada Adhikari has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of SAFA for the year 2010 at the Assembly meeting of SAFA held on 23 January 2010 at Kathmandu, Nepal.
Mr. Adhikari is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal and an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India as well as Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
Mr. Adhikari has joined the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal as a Joint Director in March, 2007. Subsequently he promoted as a Director-Technical to look after the technical matters as well as international affairs. Mr. Adhikari is also the SAFA Nodal Officer from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal. He was also the Secretary of Task Force constituted under the coordinator of Joint Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Government of Nepal to study the need assessment of Middle Level Accountants in Nepal.
He has also contributed articles related to accounting, auditing, corporate issues in the Professional Journal of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal. He has traveled in and out of Nepal including India, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
